I believe I have found the impact my life will have on the Universe. Looking back, it was waiting for me all along. I simply needed to live through the time between me and this moment. Now, this moment has been realized.
When people say “everything happens for a reason”, the reasons only manifest themselves in retrospect. It is in the nature of time to create significance out of the past in order to justify the present and realign our expectations about the future.
I recently started a new job as an On-Scene Coordinator for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It has been my dream to heal the Earth for as long as I can remember, and now I have the opportunity to spend my time directly impacting this effort. My work will allow me to directly impact disaster relief efforts for events such as oil spills, wild fires, hurricanes, and much more. I will be helping those whose lives have been destroyed or whose health is in danger. I will be healing both humanity and our relationship with the surrounding environment.
I am privileged to be spending the next couple of years learning from those with the expertise in this field. Watching others lead restoration efforts and make decision before I have the responsibility myself. It can be intimidating, learning how to coordinate hundreds of people and control large amount of extremely hazardous material. However, I am capable and ready.
Life is about finding the impact we want to have on our world, and this looks entirely different for every single being. Some may spend their whole lives searching, others may have understood their calling from the moment they arrived in our universe. What matters most is how it feels to the individual. Whether it is satisfying that instinctual urge to change something no matter how big or small.
Find your impact.
