Daily Habits

By Jude Huck-Reymond

What do you wish you could do more of every day?

Every single day, I wish that I could do more. Often I find myself waking up early in the morning well before my alarm and holding myself back from ripping out of bed. Even more often I find myself laying awake late into the night, staring into the darkness and dreaming of what I will do tomorrow. I am a visionary, and I will not be satisfied by the contents of my day before my vision becomes a reality.

We have to be very careful of what we do every day. The more we do things, the more likely we are to do them in the future. Now, this is not the same as predicting the future as we can never be sure how life will happen. However, when we do things often it actually strengthens the neurological connections that are necessary to do whatever that may be. Everything we do such as exercise, learning, physical skills, and especially addictive habits are reinforced with every new instance of that action.

To be specific, I would love to spend more time reading every day. I never regret learning new stories and information from books, and I use it as a source of inspiration for my writing for this page! I wish I could listen to people more deeply and thoroughly. I love hearing everyone’s perspective and I genuinely wish I had more time to listen to more opinions and perspectives about the human condition and the nature of this universe we live in. I wish I could learn more every day. I believe my mission in life is to pursue the truth of this universe, and I have realized that the more I learn, the closer I am to that reality I imagine. Finally, I wish I could meet more people every day. I always feel very extroverted and when I meet new and interesting people it fills my heart with joy and excitement for the future.
